On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May, Alicia Lie, Elana Van Der Merwe and Jacqueline Huang (representing Sri Lanka) attended the 2017 MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly). MUNA 2017 showcased an array of costumes, personalities and some of the upper North Island’s best aspiring diplomats.
The two day conference involving around 80 schools representing 100 countries, who are all members of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The conference involves students carefully researching their assigned country in preparation for the discussion of five remits, an emergency situation and impromptu debate, as well as other matters which arose during the two days.
The representatives from Glenfield College were fantastic, and definitely left their mark.
A huge thanks to Glenfield Rotary for there financial support to make our attendance at MUNA possible.
