Glenfield College’s Year 12 Business students were up at the ‘crack of dawn’ at the weekend to run stalls at the Takapuna and Browns Bay markets as part of their Business Activities. “I was delighted with the commitment and planning of our students who managed to organise themselves very well to be at their respective markets to sell their great handmade products” said Mr Hett, Business Studies teacher.
Students undertake a comprehensive business activity as part of their Business Studies programme. The assessment requires students to write a detailed business plan and then undertake the activities they have described in their plan including producing their products, marketing their products and completing a finance evaluation of their activity. The work culminates in the students proactively selling their products in various North Shore markets.
“It is quite a challenge to get everything in order to run a successful business but we were delighted with the response and interest in our amazing POW (Perfect Ornamental Wear) necklaces” said Nicola Moody-Turnwald, Year 12 Business Studies student.
