The Services Academy is a military based programme facilitated at Glenfield College incorporating the values of Courage, Commitment, Comradeship and Integrity. The Services Academy has close links to The New Zealand Defence Force, Youth Development Unit.

The Services Academy programme encompasses many areas of the NZ curriculum and embraces all of the Key Competencies. Through collaboration with Directors across the country, the skills, knowledge and abilities that all Service Academy students should have at the end of the course can be broken down into the categories below.

Entry Criteria
Students must be aged 16 years or older
Students must have NCEA Level 1 or be close to the 80 credits required
Students must have a desire to be a member of an effective team
Students must be willing to push themselves physically and mentally
