Junior Technology has a clear focus on learning new skills, techniques and processes, these are then applied in our specialist spaces. Students are encouraged to utilise their prior knowledge to create original ideas for a range of design briefs and tasks.
Senior Technology encourages students to work both independently and collaboratively when producing outcomes. Courses are designed to reflect the nature of the industries they are based on. Senior Technology is split into two pathways; vocational (Unit Standards) and design technology (Achievement Standards).
Design and Visual Communication
DVC is about generating ideas and communicating them effectively. Throughout the years, students will learn tools and techniques used by real-life designers to create outcomes that are unique and representative of a changing world.
Students learn traditional sketching techniques as well as CAD modelling and presentation strategies to communicate their ideas to an audience. DVC leads to a wide range of tertiary courses which include product, architecture, landscape, industrial, fashion and spatial design.
Digital Technology
We provide students with design and technology skills using computers. We teach students to extend their own ideas when developing solutions to design tasks, improving upon their skill set for future careers.
Food Technology and Senior Hospitality
Junior Food Technology emphasises practical skill-building, equipping students with solid routines and an understanding of how to work collaboratively to achieve an outcome.
Senior Hospitality provides students with the practical and theory-based skills used in the hospitality industry, providing a clear pathway into the workforce.
Hard Materials (Wood) and Senior Construction
Our students receive the theoretical knowledge and practical skills used in the carpentry industry, providing a clear path into the workforce with courses that are made up of industry-based pre-apprenticeship Unit Standards.
Hard Materials (Metal) and Automotive Engineering
Our students acquire a broad knowledge of automotive technology and the skills to identify potential safety and maintenance issues with vehicles. We provide theory-based and practical guidance, preparing students for a career in the Automotive Engineering Industry.
