Food, games, mufti: Glenfield College celebrated Gumboot Friday on the 17th of November, 2023.
Money was raised, kindness was spread and memories to be cherished till the end were made.
Touch rugby was organised by Ricco, while treats were made by students, staff and whānau to sell and bring even more happiness to the Glenfield population.
Abbi and Marli were baking machines, while Charity and Xiannah expertly put together the bags of kindness.
Genesis, Ricco and the girls were exuberant fairies, making deliveries all day long.
The colouring contest was well received by the students, with the final winners being:
- Most colourful: Archangel Muthuthanthrige
- Most creative: Abbigale Smal
- Most accurate: Cole Parr
Thank you to Tyler and Carl for helping to control the crowd and Issys for the help with cleaning up and packing up.
The students then said a very heartfelt thank you and farewell to Miss Williams, and a thank you and see you next year to Mrs Ogden.
All up, we raised close to $1,000 for the I Am Hope Foundation, which goes directly to paying for counselling for young New Zealanders in need.
Miss Williams and Mrs Ogden were incredibly proud of the effort of these amazing Year 10s who showed heart, pragmatism and diligence. Miss Williams feels ready to hand the baton of organising service events over to these 10Km legends.
