On Wednesday 26th September, Glenfield College entered 2 teams into the North Harbour Sevens Championship held at QBE Stadium, Albany.
The Boys competed in the Open Grade, with Year 9 & 10 students River Kerehoma, Braeden Fisher and Brayden Maxwell mixing it against Year 13’s and producing tremendous displays in their matches. The results against Orewa, Hobsonville & Birkenhead College weren’t in Glenfield’s favour, but the boys showed tremendous spirit and held their own against the strong competition.
The girls entered the U15 competition, with 8 out of the 9 students still Year 9’s. Stand out performers in their matches against Long Bay & Takapuna were Deina Tuiloma, Paris Pou & Leafu Maua. Also, performances of the day were Starzia-Rose Jaram & Imogen Baker with a try a piece in their
15-10 loss to Long Bay. Big thank you to Courtney Kapi for coaching the girls & boys throughout the day.
Mr. Mason.
