Glenfield College did well. In fact we took away the Top Award in the World Championships for the High School section.
At the World Championships there were 450 high school teams from a total of about 10,000 teams from 33 countries.
We won the Excellence Award which recognises the best VEX robotics programme. This is a programme which builds a good robot and also makes a difference in its community.
Jason also took out the Engineering division Amaze Award for quality of robot build. He totally deserved it as his robot was admired and photographed by everyone. Throughout the competition the robot functioned well and never broke down. He did topple it once -which as you can imagine would be fairly spectacular.
One of the consequences of winning the Excellence Award is we get automatic entry to next year’s world championships in Kentucky.
