Not even the threat of a cyclone could stop Glenfield College’s Relay For Life team from sending a buzz of excitement around the school today.
The team organised a mufti day to raise money for the New Zealand Cancer Society, with a grand total of $494.70 being donated from our generous students.
During Period 2, students received hand-delivered letters, balloons and chocolates, with the letters containing positive affirmations and messages of kindness.
The positivity continued at lunchtime when students took part in a photo challenge in the cafeteria, using the frames the team had prepared. There was also a quiz about cancer in New Zealand to enter, with Benjamin Carey, Courtney Kapi and Michael Oborn being the lucky winners. They will receive their prizes on athletics day, next Tuesday.
Well done and thank you to everyone who got in the spirit of the day and contributed to the happy vibe around the school.
