Waka Ama is a water sport which engages the upper body primarily and mid-section for a strong paddle stroke. Anybody can paddle. You don’t have to have had any experience, nor do you have to be fit. These things will develop over time.
Waka Ama is a very enjoyable water sport. All safety procedures are strictly in place at all times during paddle training/races. Life jackets are supplied.
Training is at Lake Pupuke. We are associated with Taniwha Waka Ama Club. Sugar TePaa is Head Coach.
Audrey Wikiwhiri is also the Assistant Coach to Sugar.
Often we travel away at a minimal cost to Waka Ama races and National Secondary Schools events.
