Glenfield College Year 10 student Liam Hibbard passed his Level 3 New Zealand Softball Umpire qualification last month and has recently received the news that he has been selected to umpire at the World Masters Games for softball.

Liam, who also represents his school team, North Harbour Champions in 2016, took up umpiring when realising it could give his playing performances an added edge, due to a greater understanding and insight into the game. He now dreams of one day officiating at the ISF World Championships and we have no doubts that he could very well achieve his goal. Well done Liam!
