Glenfield College has been fortunate to be part of the National Foundation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Screening Programme. The majority of students in Year 9 were tested this week and we look forward to a return visit every year as part of a longitudinal study. Globally, one in five teenagers have some hearing loss and this number is predicted to double over the next 30 years. To ensure young people are aware of the risks, the National Foundation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing have developed a programme that focuses on educating young people about noise-induced hearing loss and how to protect their precious hearing.
